The Mattson’s Steak House Difference

This restaurant is for the pleasure of our Guests, not the convenience of the staff or the owners. We want you to have a great experience every time you dine with us. We will work hard to earn your trust and enthusiastic endorsement. We will strive to never disappoint you or your friends.

When you enter and place your order someone will greet you and thank you for coming. We are truly glad you are here.

Because we serve cafeteria style we cannot accept reservations. We also cannot allow people to save tables at certain times when we are busy.

We think it is fair to sell at a price that is higher than our cost in an effort to stay in business. However, we will never sacrifice quality to keep prices low. If we cannot do it right we will not do it at all.

We have a full service bar and a cocktail waitress will come out to your table to see if you would like to try one of our specialty drinks or a favorite of yours. Because of liquor license requirements we cannot put your cocktail in a paper cup so you can take it with you. It would be against the law and unsafe for you to be driving with open liquor.

All of our dinners and side orders are available for carry out. After you place your carry out order you will be given containers for your soup and salad. You can go to the bars and help yourself. While you’re doing that we will be working on your entrée.

Because we have a “help yourself” salad bar, soup bar, and ice cream sundae bar and hot food bar, we cannot hand out containers for your leftovers. You are welcome to eat as much as you like from the soup/salad/sundae bars while you are here, but these items cannot be taken out as leftovers.

We understand that while this may upset some, most will understand why we have to do this.

We make aluminum foil sheets readily available for any leftovers from your entrée or for bones for your dog, and we will happily bag this foil for you as you are leaving our restaurant. If you have something that won’t fit in the aluminum foil, or you just don’t want to use the free foil, we will be happy to take your leftovers and put them in a container for you, bag it, and have it ready for you when you are leaving, for a fifty cent charge for the container.

All necessary condiments are on the table, at the salad bar, or given with the dinner. We do not want you to wait for us to get our act together while your food is getting cold.

We are proud of the cleanliness of our restrooms. We check them every half hour to be sure, but you know how quickly accidents can happen. If you find that the restroom needs attention, please inform anyone on our staff and we will fix the problem right away.

We will listen to you. We will find out what you want and how you want it, and we will do our best to get it to you that way. BUT we cannot alter the laws of physics. The longer we cook a steak the dryer and tougher the steak gets.

We go through a lot of steaks therefore we are going to get some tough ones. Let us know if you get a tough one and we will replace it right away. If you want the replacement cooked well done, we will not replace it a second time.

If you have a special request, just ask. We will do our best to get you whatever you need.

If you leave us hungry, you’re doing something wrong.

Get Ready for ROASTED Chicken

Mattson’s has recently purchased a rotisserie oven. (see picture) For all you folks that have ordered our Broasted Chicken Dinner, only to find out that Broasted chicken is cooked in oil, this is your lucky day. When this is hooked up and ready to go we will be able to roast and hold up to 35 full chickens. We will be serving them as half chicken dinners, that is breast, thigh, leg, & wing together. We will just cut the whole chicken in two pieces.

We will be planning on at minimum, two recipes, BBQ ,and plain. If you have any ideas or favorites, please let us know on this website.

UPDATE…

Well, it looks like it might be a while till we get the rotisserie working. It was delivered on 4-27-11. Then I found out it was a 208 volt unit. Mattson’s has the older 220 volt. Now you know why you need to be VERY careful of anything you purchase on-line.
